After Hours

I became a mother late in life and every day I am more and more grateful for my daughter, Shayna, and my husband, Jeff. They add such joy! Having a good work / life balance is extremely important to me. I love spending time with my family and my friends, playing games, cooking and eating good food, and spending a lot of time laughing.  My favorite charity is In-Sync Exotics (which is a Rescue / Sanctuary for large cats) and I try to donate as often as I can to them.  I have 1 dog and 3 cats that keep me on my toes and would have more if I could. I am an avid reader – fantasy, crime mystery, and historical romances – being my favorites. I LOVE anything to do with trivia, especially playing board games with my family.  Most of my “knowledge” is trivial, but I think that just makes me a good conversationalist and a good person to have on your team if we are playing Trivial Pursuit!

Although I have little contact with the clients, there are still quite a few clients that ask for me. Change is always hard and clients appreciate having a “go to” person that they are familiar with, even though they know that person is no longer directly involved with what they need. Clients always say they are glad I am still available for them and that, in turn, makes me feel valued.

I have over 25 years in the administrative, customer service, and billing fields. What I may lack in formal schooling, I have made up for in experience. Every job I have held, I have always taken on more responsibilities, learning more with each new endeavor, which has led me to the position I now hold. I started with M White & Associates in 2002 as an Administrative Assistant for the office. As we have grown substantially since then, we have created new jobs for new employees, from work that used to be handled by me, so I am very familiar with the inner workings of the Firm. I am now in the position of Billing Manager.  We handle all aspects of the Firm’s billing – client invoices, staff time sheets, deposits, payment posting, reports, etc. We also provide support to the Tax Department in that we handle the administrative aspects related to the filing of tax returns – sending returns and/or forms to clients, e-filing returns and tracking acceptances and rejections, sending extensions, etc.
